About Big Blue Barry
Barry French, professionally known as Big Blue Barry, is a seasoned composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist with a proven track record of creating high-impact music for film, television, and media. His musical journey began behind the drum kit in his local church, later expanding into guitar and fronting a touring band that performed extensively across the Southeastern United States. Today, he channels that raw, live-energy foundation into crafting compelling, genre-spanning instrumental cues and songs designed specifically for visual media.
As a songwriter, Barry earned early breakout success with multiple co-writes for independent artist Eowyn, produced by Grammy-nominated Travis Wyrick. The collaboration yielded the hit single "Silent Screams," which climbed to #17 on the National Rock and Christian Rock charts.
Since signing his first publishing deal in 2009, Barry has become a prolific force in the sync licensing world. His music has been featured across a diverse array of major network and cable television programs, with placements ranging from high-stakes reality and documentary series like Duck Dynasty, Catfish, The Voice, and 48 Hours, to major network sports broadcasts including the NFL on FOX and The Oprah Winfrey Show. Furthermore, Barry has demonstrated his knack for capturing a show's sonic identity by landing the main title themes for In The Bedroom with Dr. Laura Berman, It’s A Brad, Brad World, and Don't Trust Andrew Mayne (co-write).
Driven by a deep understanding of standard industry workflows and editor needs, Barry's primary objective as a library composer remains steadfast: to deliver top-tier, mix-ready tracks that seamlessly elevate the on-screen narrative, serve the scene, and resonate powerfully with global audiences.
